ABOUT
Born and raised in Oakland, CA, Ignacio Lopez Jr. - known as "DELACiiO" - carries his Mexican heritage proudly through his music and identity. His earliest musical influences came from home: telenovelas and traditional Mexican music shared by his singer mother and father, who introduced him to legendary groups like Los Bukis.
Growing up in Oakland, DELACiiO found himself at the crossroads of cultures. He absorbed both his parents' musical heritage and the contemporary sounds of local rappers and MTV, viewing his life as a dramatic narrative scored by this diverse soundtrack. At 14, music became his salvation when a youth program helped channel his creative energy away from the challenges that surrounded his neighborhood peers.
Though his career initially led him away from music into more traditional business pursuits, a profound personal experience - a difficult breakup - reignited his passion for creative expression. DELACiiO returned to music with a unique vision: blending Musica Mexicana, Reggaeton, and Hip-hop to create a distinctive sound that bridges generations and genres. His work tells vivid stories of contemporary Mexican-American life, weaving together the drama of pueblo traditions with modern urban experiences - the voice of a 21st century desperado who honors his roots while carving his own path.
